There are many forms of acceleration, and it is the most cost-effective intervention to ensure that high learning potential children are challenged in their learning and develop appropriate social skills. This advice sheet offers you information to help you support children with high learning potential should they require a form of acceleration.

This advice sheet is aimed at coordinators of provision for high potential learners in all school stages. It gives guidance about informing parents and carers about provision for high potential learners, including informing parents and carers that their child has been identified as a high potential learner.
