Potential Plus UK is a membership charity with over 50 years of unique experience, expertise and understanding of high learning potential. We offer support and practical strategies to parents and carers of children and young people aged 18 and under, with high learning potential.

We offer four types of family membership:

  • Family Plus Membership
  • Family Essentials Membership
  • Associate Family Member by School
  • Associate Family Member by Organisation

Family Plus Membership

Benefits of membership

  • Unlimited pre-booked telephone advisory calls
  • Members’ online community including specialist groups, forum and e-resources including free downloadable advice and activity sheets
  • Focus on Potential monthly mailings with information and support
  • Member-only events and member discounts for events (as appropriate)
  • Fireside Chats – member-only informal discussion groups on Zoom
  • Voting rights
  • Discounts on our High Learning Potential Assessment service
  • Eligibility to apply to our Scholarship Fund for financial assistance to take up assessments and attend many of our national events

Family Plus Membership costs £125 for the first year. The renewal fee on the second and subsequent years, is £60.

Family Essentials Membership

Benefits of membership:

  • Unlimited pre-booked telephone advisory calls
  • Members’ online community including specialist groups, forum and e-resources including free downloadable advice and activity sheets
  • Focus on Potential monthly mailings with information and support
  • Member-only events and member discounts for events (as appropriate)
  • Fireside Chats – member-only informal discussion groups on Zoom
  • Voting rights

The cost for one year is £60 and as families renew after the first year it upgrades automatically to a Family Plus membership with additional benefits.

Associate Family Member by School

Schools and academies join Potential Plus UK to provide support for high potential learners and their families. Support includes offering those families some of the benefits of family membership with Potential Plus UK. When your school joins or renews as a member, then they are given a unique member access code to pass on to families. This code enables you to join Potential Plus UK as an Associate Family Member by School free of charge.

Benefits of Associate Membership by School:

  • Members’ online community including specialist groups, forum and e-resources, including free downloadable advice and activity sheets
  • Focus on Potential monthly mailings with information and support
  • Member-only events and member discounts for events (as appropriate)
  • Fireside Chats – member-only informal discussion groups on Zoom

Associate Family Member by Organisation

Organisations (such as British Mensa) join Potential Plus UK to provide support for the families of their children with high learning potential. When an organisation joins or renews as a member, then they are given a unique member access code to pass on to families. This code, along with proof of current organisation membership (e.g., Mensa membership number) enables you to join Potential Plus UK as an Associate Family Member by Organisation, free of charge.
