£0.00

This fact sheet is for teachers, professionals, parents and carers who would like clear information on how DME autistic children may present in terms of behaviours and characteristics, and strategies to support strengths and possible weaknesses at home and at school.

Description

Children who have high intelligence and autism are considered “dual or multiple exceptional” (DME). The term dual or multiple exceptionality is used in the UK to describe children who have both high learning potential and would be classed as having a special educational need. DME means the same thing as “twice exceptional”, or “2e”, a term which is used in other parts of the world. This fact sheet is for teachers, professionals, parents and carers who would like clear information on how DME autistic children may present in terms of behaviours and characteristics, and strategies to support strengths and possible weaknesses at home and at school.
