What is the Scholarship Fund?

Do you have a bright child and want to understand more about their strengths and weaknesses? Potential Plus UK offers assessments of high learning potential to find out more about how to support your child. However, some families can struggle to meet the full cost of an assessment. For eligible Family Plus/Concessionary Family Plus members who may have difficulty covering the full cost of an assessment, we offer a subsidised rate through our Scholarship Fund.

Who Can Apply to the Fund?

• The fund is available for families on a low income but is not restricted to those in receipt of benefits.
• Families must hold Family Plus Membership/Concessionary Family Plus membership to be eligible to apply to the scholarship fund. Unfortunately we are not able to offer access to the Scholarship Fund for Family Essentials Members and Associate Family Members. However, Family Essentials Membership upgrades to Family Plus Membership after the first year.

How Much of the Cost of an Assessment is Subsidised?

• The scholarship funding does not cover 100% of the cost of an assessment.
• The criteria for a decision of whether you are eligible to receive scholarship funding and what percentage of the assessment cost this covers are based on both the family’s situation and the need of the child. This will be discussed with you during the application.

How Long Does it Take to Apply?

• The process of application takes several weeks.

I Have Been Told that I Have to Wait for Funding – Please Can You Explain Why?

• Although we continually fundraise, there are times when we do not have any funding available for allocation to new Scholarship applications.
• We recommend that families still submit an application to the Scholarship Fund, even though there may be a delay before we can process the application. When new funding comes available we will process applications in the date order in which they have been received.

Who Can I Talk to About Applying for Funding?

• We advise anyone interested in finding out more about whether an assessment is right for their child and whether they qualify for Scholarship Funding to take up a half hour call with one of our advisors.
• These calls are free to eligible Family Plus, Concessionary and Family Essentials Members and a small fee for Associate or Non-members.

How Do I Apply?

Family Plus and Concessionary Family Plus Members can apply to the Scholarship Fund to help meet the cost of an assessment by sending an email to amazing.children@potentialplusuk.org requesting an application form.
