The purpose of the National Discussion is to inform wide-ranging plans, including the creation of three new education bodies and a review of qualifications and assessment.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gla.ac.uk\/research\/az\/ablepupils\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-safelink=\"true\" data-linkindex=\"0\">The Scottish Network for Able Pupils<\/a>\u00a0 and Potential Plus UK together hosted an online session on 16<sup>th<\/sup> November for parents and carers of young people with high learning potential. Thank you to everyone who took part. One of the co-facilitators of the National Discussion, Dr Alma Harris\u00b9, joined the session to explain its context and listen to parents\u2019 views. There was an opportunity for parents to share their ideas about how Scottish education could best meet the educational and wellbeing needs of high potential learners in the future. The aim is for the co-facilitators\u00b2 to ensure all views, including those of parents and carers, are listened to and included in the National Discussion.<\/p>\n<p>There is still time for parents and carers in Scotland to have their say and share their views by emailing <a href=\"mailto:nationaldiscussiononeducation@gov.scot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-safelink=\"true\" data-linkindex=\"1\">nationaldiscussiononeducation@gov.scot<\/a><\/p>\n<p>They can also follow <strong>#TalkScottishEducation<\/strong> on Twitter or Instagram to keep up with the discussion.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion will <strong>conclude on 5th December 2022<\/strong>.
