It helps parents to understand their child\u2019s abilities compared to others their age and provides resources to support their development.<\/p>\n<h3>What do I need to know about the Early Years Assessment of Potential?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Children find the day engaging, with formal activities and some play<\/li>\n<li>Includes a lunch break and as many shorter breaks as required<\/li>\n<li>Your child can bring a favourite toy, snacks and drinks from home<\/li>\n<li>Parents receive brief verbal feedback shortly after the assessment<\/li>\n<li>A detailed report is provided within 3-5 weeks including:\n<ul>\n<li>Parenting advice for highly able children<\/li>\n<li>Strategies for supporting your child at home<\/li>\n<li>Guidelines for nursery\/preschool support, if relevant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>A follow-up consultation for any questions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional support is available through the Information and Advice Service.
