Natasha Riley and Thomas Briggs of the Bletchley Park Trust kindly provided next challenge in our 50 Challenges for 50 Years Anniversary Challenge Book series. They work in the education office at Bletchley Park, have both been classroom teachers and now bring STEM excitement into schools with a real enigma machine. Check out our event there on 12th August!
This challenge introduces alphabet ciphers and gets you to think about how many variations there might be, then challenges you to take this further by researching Caesar wheels and the Enigma machine.
Members can download the full 50 Challenges for 50 Years book free of charge (normally £7.50).
A hard copy of the full 50 Challenges for 50 Years is also available for £15.00 (including postage and packaging to UK addresses).
You can track your progress using the Challenge Chart. Once you’ve completed as many challenges as you can, send your chart and the answer to or result of the challenge you enjoyed the most to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll send you a certificate!
